The Launching of Brunei Content Festival 2023 Screening and Exhibition & The Broadcasting Portal - Kontenkitani.bn

8 September 2023 – The Brunei Content Festival (BCF) 2023 Screening and Exhibition was launched at The Mall, Gadong. The aim of the event is to promote and encourage the production of quality local content by local content creators and production companies.

Throughout the three-day event, the public screenings of content made by local production companies competing in the BCF 2023 Awards. There was an exhibition of content, services and talents from a variety of production companies and Insitutions of higher learning. Quizzes, games and other activities are also organized at the respective booths.

The Screening and Exhibition was open to public from 10 am to 10 pm, from Friday, 8 to Sunday 10 September 2023. The BCF 2023 Screening and Exhibition event was officiated by Yang Mulia Ir. Awang Haji Jailani Bin Haji Buntar, Chief Executive, Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry Brunei Darussalam
(AITI) as the Guest of Honour. This was followed by the launching of AITI’s broadcasting portal, kontenkitani.bn.

This new broadcasting portal is to provide online information specifically for the public and the industry in their quest for the suitable production, talent, or freelancing services for the industry needs. Registered production companies and freelancers can publish any new industry events, including relevant promotions, that can be advertised in the portal.

Kontenkitani.bn also serves as a reference of the number of active production companies and freelancers available in Brunei Darussalam. All production companies and freelancers in the country are encouraged to register and promote themselves in the Portal.

This exhibition was a precursor to the Brunei Content Festival 2023 Awards Ceremony, which was held on 12 September 2023, where winners among the local content creators, are recognized for their outstanding efforts. This is to encourage content creators, producers, artists, and industry players to create high-quality content with commercial potential that can be distributed and marketed to digital media platforms such as OTT.

By organizing Brunei Content Festival yearly, it is hoped that the content producers can be acknowledged for their efforts, encourage them to keep creating, establish creative communities, conserve the Bruneian culture and values, celebrate artistic expression, and helps the vitality of numerous creative disciplines and enterprises, all of which will contribute to the nation’s economic growth.
